SOLON TAX USPs

The design of SOLON TAX leverages our expertise and experience with large and complex tax and revenue management system implementations. Specifically built for modern revenue authorities, SOLON TAX serves as a unified solution for all taxpayer activities, ensuring accurate and consistent data management across all functions.

SOLON TAX provides features and functions to support all tax authorities core businesses like taxpayer self-service, registration and return processing, refunds, payments, risk, compliance, enforcement, revenue accounting, and analytics.

SOLON TAX is built to support multiple tax types like VAT, Personal Tax and Fees and create a coherent overview of all activities and ensure that revenue authorities have a single source of the truth for all taxpayers across all tax types.

At the same time, SOLON TAX provides the flexibility to only support selected tax types and tax business processes.

With its modular microservices-based design and ‘out-of-the-box’ accelerators, SOLON TAX facilitates a phased, low-risk implementation process, allowing a smooth transition to a unified solution for managing all taxpayer and revenue services. By gradually implementing changes, revenue authorities provide a structured and controlled approach, minimizing the potential for disruptions, controlling costs, and ensuring a smoother transition for users. Some revenue authorities use a hybrid model where some parts of the core process are performed using their existing system. The flexibility of SOLON TAX enables integration with these systems.

SOLON TAX aims to minimize the tax gap by encouraging voluntary compliance through providing easy-to-use-, anytime-, and anywhere access for taxpayers and by reducing fraud. Fraud identification is supported through the provision of automated risk-based processes that proactively monitor high risk taxpayers and transactions and behavioural risk analysis to identify anomalies and trends in large sets of data. The risk analysis is used to build a taxpayer profile and effectively select candidates for further action. Data in SOLON TAX is easily accessible and provides authorities with the ability to store data for any kind of analytics- and AI-purposes.

SOLON TAX provides both synchronous and asynchronous communication to connect with 3rd party systems. SOLON TAX’s open API architecture ensures easy integration with complex legacy systems and offers an extensive range of pre-built APIs for reliable connectivity. Services can be updated, and new services can be implemented and exposed as REST APIs. Asynchronous processes can be used to upload data, download data and for processing data internally.

SOLON TAX complies with complex local and international standards, including the OECD’s data exchange guidelines and the EU’s VAT initiatives (OSS and VIDA).

SOLON TAX is tailored to meet diverse business and legal requirements. SOLON TAX provides multiple tax processes, forms, rules, and pre-defined business entities out-of-the-box and is also built to be highly configurable and extensible, adapting to each jurisdiction’s unique policies.
