Netcompany signs framework agreement with SURF and Studielink for new sector-wide educational solution

In a significant step towards a more connected and accessible educational landscape, Netcompany has been selected by SURF and Studielink to deliver a national sector-wide platform for all post-secondary institutions in the Netherlands.

SURF, the ICT cooperative for Dutch educational and research institutions and Studielink, the coordinating organisation, responsible for the delivery of the application, have partnered with Netcompany to lead this cohesive digital transformation with the development and management of the new sector-wide educational platform.

A future-proof foundation for education

The new platform will simplify the entire student journey, from application and enrolment to registration. It aims to create a cohesive, user-friendly experience that empowers lifelong learners and supports the Dutch government’s vision for a modernised educational system. This initiative will make flexible and cross-institutional education a reality, allowing students to navigate their learning paths without administrative obstacles. The centralised platform will be designed based on modern technology and architecture. Digital sovereignty is a guiding principle: the sector retains control over data, architecture, and critical technology within a publicly anchored ecosystem.

»This new project marks another milestone in our ambitions to move society digitally forward. By applying our technical knowledge and expertise in the education sector, Netcompany is improving digital accessibility for every post-secondary student in the Netherlands.«

Britt Hoppenbrouwers, Country Managing Partner Netcompany Netherlands

The framework agreement has a total duration of ten years. The driving force behind it is the National Growth Fund program Npuls, in which the three educational sectors (mbohbo, and wo), Studielink, and SURF collaborate on the transformation of post-secondary education.
