Authentic connections

Paweł Skaruz and Paweł Lubaszka on the importance of teamwork in the IT industry
1. Lay a solid foundation from the beginning
»Like every Netcompany employee, I was assigned a buddy when I joined in 2017. That buddy was Paweł Lubaszka. He ensured that I got off to the best start,« Paweł Skaruz explains. »I’ve always been very motivated by a good work atmosphere. Having great connections and complementing each other’s strengths only makes everything run smoother.«
2. Be honest and open
»It’s simple,« Paweł Lubaszka expresses. »Say what’s on your mind. One of the worst things you can do is be frustrated and afraid to speak up. The same goes for when you’re happy. If you like doing some specific tasks, then let your project manager know.«
3. Talk to people and get to know them
»Broadening your network makes it easier to do things, not only in terms of working on the project,« Lubaszka says. »It’s easier to discuss various issues, solutions, or problems. You can always reach out to someone who can help you out, whether you need assistance with technology or when writing some formal documentation, like a tender.«
»Exactly,« Skaruz agrees and continues; »when you know your colleagues, you know who to ask for help with a given topic, and they are more willing to help. So, definitely talk to people and get to know them.«
4. Tackle challenges together
»We really like working together at the office,« Lubaszka admits. » It’s easier to notice things, offer immediate support, and strengthen team bonds. That kind of connection is key to building a flexible, collaborative team. «
Skaruz adds, »When we’re together at the office, people feel more comfortable discussing challenges. You can investigate issues, brainstorm solutions, and learn faster. Face-to-face time—whether with teammates or colleagues from other countries—helps us tackle problems effectively and build stronger relationships.«
5. Embrace different perspectives
»Delivering software is a collaborative effort, which is why being able to exchange ideas is so crucial,« Lubaszka says. »Even if you have a lot of experience, you can still make mistakes or need input. Therefore, you need to be open to engage, learn, and collaborate with others to find effective solutions together.«
